Buy and sell of used cars is a great business during these times.It will be bigger when people are tightening their belts on spending.More and more people need to sell the cars that they can’t maintain. While people that needs to buy a car will instead opt for a used car rather than a new one.Maintenance records are now important in the information age.  Mainly because used cars records are so easily viewed.  Cars maintained better will get more money.  So it is very important to maintain your cars.

You have probably seen those carfax commercials where a prospective buyer is demanding to see a cars maintenance records.  That isn't so unbelievable.  As more and more people become aware of this service they will want it too.So your car must have a good record if you really plan on selling your used car. Whenever I service any client at my San Diego auto repair shop I make sure they always get a record of their service. You might get surprised at how many clients think that this is not important.

It would be very very important.  For example with stricter smog laws you don’t want a car that hasn’t been maintained well.  I get cars in all the time while checking them at my San Diego smog check shop who fail because of improper maintenance. Cars that are get regular tuneups are usually the cars that can pass those smog tests.The cars that usually fail are the cars that are not ususally maintained.

It also applies to the brakes.Minor brake jobs will turn into major expensive brake problems if you don’t maintain your brakes.  Just by doing regular maintenance for my clients at my San Diego brake shop I have been able to save them hundreds if not thousands on extra expenses.  And with brakes it saves you with safety issues as well.

So in this information age where records are easily kept and viewed you must make sure to keep records of all the services your car has gone through.It might be able to help you in the future.
